Holliday House Investigation

Big C Appliance is now a historical building. Built back in 1892, it was once a trading post for Indians and had a bone yard in back.  Later is came to be a wholesale grocery company that was owned by one of Wichita Falls leaders of industry, J.A. Kemp.  It is now owned by the R. L. Cargal family.  T.R.I.P.P. began investigating this historical building in Dec. 2005 after an employee of the building mentioned that there seemed to be strange activity going on. The employee was correct. This building was a learning experience for the team.

We were glad to be able to do the White Sanitarium, also known as the Old Insane Asylum.  Most all of us local to the area have a story to tell when we went there as children, or as teenagers trying to get a good scare from a place that was haunted. We would roam the small rooms scaring each other and not wanting to venture down into the basement for fear of what we might discover. After having set vacant for many years and in a state of ruin, it has now been refurbished and remodeled, and even though it may look completely different than it use to, the spirits still roam there and have not left. Voices being heard, claimed apparitions being seen and unexplained lights being seen at night, make us all aware that the spirits have not minded the renovations and still call this place home. Read about what our investigators experienced while investigating one of Wichita Falls most well known haunts.

Lonesome Dove Inn Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful nostalgic place in
Archer City, Texas. Owned by Mary Slack Webb (inn host) and Ceil Slack Cleveland (partner), it was named after one of Larry McMurtry's novels, Lonesome Dove. Each room in the Inn is named after one of McMurtry's books.  McMurtry and the Innkeeper are friends. The place is steeped in furnishings of the past with many antiques coming from all over. You get a sense of stepping back into the days of past while visiting this very friendly and charming Inn. However, if you stay at the Inn, there may be more guests than can be seen with the eye. The Inn is host to not only the living, but to those from beyond. If you want a little spice added to an evening, this Inn can possibly surprise you with more than the average.

Read about it here.

The Backdoor Theater is one of Wichita Falls older buildings. It was once an ice house that was converted to the theater. What is a theater without a ghost, and this theater does appear to have not only one, but possibly more.  T.R.I.P.P.  began investigating this theater in November 2005 and has been there twice, and plans to go back at least one more time to try and find out more about the wandering souls that are calling this theater home.
Here are the results of their investigation so far.

Somewhere In Time Antique Mall and Secret Garden Tea Room in Wichita Falls, Texas  is a wonderful place to go to feel and see the days of past with its beautiful array of antiques, and also a menu to delight the senses. Diane and Barbara have brought together a wonderful collection of items from all over and sumptuous meals to partake of while you are visiting. That is not all this place has to offer. If you have a sense for the unexpected or you enjoy the feeling that there is more to see there than meets the eye, this place will not disappoint you. If you listen carefully, secrets may reveal themselves and some items are sure to have their story to tell. Read more here
